Why Choose Kitchens Elevated for Your Custom Cabinetry Needs?

Longmont has strong cabinet options. Tharp Custom Cabinetry has manufactured Colorado cabinets since 1971. Classic Cabinets and Design serves Boulder County with authorized dealer relationships. Cabinet IQ offers 3D renderings and full installation. None of them visit your Longmont home first. At Kitchens Elevated an NKBA Member designer visits your home, designs around how your household cooks and lives, and specifies every cabinet before a single order is placed.

Longmont is a city of 1990s and 2000s production builds where developer cabinets were chosen for cost, not character. We take the time to understand exactly how your household uses the kitchen and build a specification around that, not a catalog template.

From Stoney Ridge open plans to Fox Hill established homes, we design around the specific character of your Longmont property. Every door style, finish, and storage configuration is chosen for your space.

You work with one designer from first measurement to final sign-off. No handoffs, no surprises, no pushy sales tactics. Just honest guidance and a process built around your vision and budget.

Our designer follows NKBA standards and brings specialized expertise to every Longmont project. We guide you with genuine knowledge at every stage of the process.

You will always know who is working on your project. Our small, dedicated team delivers results that feel personal, considered, and built to last in a home you intend to stay in.

We Know Longmont Homes

Longmont sits in Boulder County, a short drive from our Boulder showroom. That proximity makes it easy for Longmont homeowners to visit, see finishes in person, and stay involved in the design.

The housing in Longmont runs from late 1800s brick homes near downtown to newer builds along the western edge of the city. Our designer works in every part of it.

That range matters for cabinet design. The cabinet plan for a 1910 home near Roosevelt Park is nothing like the cabinet plan for a 2018 build in Hilltop Village. Ceiling heights, wall depths, window placements, and original kitchen footprints all shape what we can do and how we design it. We measure for those details before we present a plan, not after.

Longmont’s climate factors into cabinet decisions too. Colorado’s dry air and high altitude affect real wood, so cabinetry needs to be properly finished and acclimated before install. South facing kitchens see strong sunlight that can shift certain finishes over time, which influences the materials we recommend.

Kitchens Elevated works across every part of Longmont. We design cabinets for the historic blocks near the Longmont Museum, the mid century streets through Stoney Ridge and Prairie Village, the established suburbs of Fox Hill and Kiteley, the newer homes in Hilltop Village, and the rural properties out toward Hygiene and McIntosh Lake.

Kitchen Cabinet Design Across Longmont’s Housing Range

Longmont’s homes span more than a century, and each era brings its own cabinet design challenges. Here is how we approach cabinet design across the different home types we work in.

The brick and frame homes around downtown date to the late 1800s and early 1900s, with small kitchens, narrow walls, and original details worth keeping. We design cabinets that fit unusual wall lengths, work around original windows and trim, and respect the home’s character with door styles and finishes that read true to the period.

A large share of Longmont’s housing dates to the 1950s through 1970s, with closed off kitchens, modest ceiling heights, and pantry storage that rarely meets modern needs. Our cabinet plans for these homes focus on smarter storage, proportions that suit lower ceilings, and door styles that bring the kitchen forward without fighting the home’s age.

Homes built in the 1980s and 1990s across Longmont often have semi open kitchens with builder grade cabinets that have aged out. Drawer glides drag, hinges fail, and finishes look dated even when the layout still works. We rework these kitchens with custom designed cabinetry, current door styles, and the storage upgrades that make a real difference in daily life.

Newer Longmont homes have open floor plans, taller ceilings, and bigger kitchen footprints. Many were built with builder grade cabinets that do not match the quality of the rest of the home. Our work here often means replacing the original cabinetry with custom designed alternatives, rethinking islands, and bringing finishes up to the level the home deserves.

The homes spread across the rural pockets of Longmont and out toward Hygiene tend to be larger, with more flexible layouts and stronger ties to the landscape. We design cabinets that connect the kitchen to the views, use natural materials that suit the setting, and plan storage around the realities of country living.

A cabinet plan that works in a Hilltop Village open plan will feel wrong in a downtown historic home, and the same is true the other way around. Our NKBA Member designer brings the right cabinet approach to your home, not a one size fits all template. That is the difference between cabinets that look new and cabinets that belong.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Kitchen Cabinets in Longmont

Custom kitchen cabinet costs in Longmont depend on cabinet construction, wood species, door style, finish type, hardware, and the size of your kitchen. A smaller kitchen in a mid century Stoney Ridge home with semi custom cabinets sits at the lower end. A larger kitchen in a newer Hilltop Village build with fully custom cabinetry and specialty storage sits higher. We give Longmont homeowners a clear picture of where their project falls during the free in home consultation, so you can plan with real numbers.

Custom cabinets are built to your kitchen’s exact dimensions, with full flexibility on materials, door styles, finishes, hardware, and interior storage. They suit historic homes near downtown Longmont, mid century kitchens in Prairie Village, and any project where every inch matters. Semi custom cabinets offer flexibility within established cabinet lines and work well for newer Longmont kitchens that need quality and customization on a faster timeline. We help you pick the right approach based on your Longmont home and your design.

Yes. Our designer has worked with Longmont homeowners across the city, including mid century ranches in Stoney Ridge and Prairie Village, newer builds in Hilltop Village and Kiteley, established homes in Fox Hill, and historic homes near Roosevelt Park and the Longmont Museum. We also work with homeowners in the rural pockets out toward Hygiene and around McIntosh Lake. Every project starts with a free in home consultation in your Longmont home.

Yes. Kitchens Elevated is an NKBA Member design studio and a licensed and insured contractor serving Longmont and the broader Boulder County area. Every cabinet design in Longmont follows NKBA standards, from the first measurement through the final install. Longmont homeowners can trust that their cabinet project is in credentialed hands.

The process starts when a Longmont homeowner calls or texts (303) 717-2355, or fills out the form on our website. We schedule a free in home consultation at your Longmont home, where our designer measures the space and learns how you cook and store. We then design custom cabinets around your home, walk you through finishes and door styles at our Boulder showroom, and source the cabinetry through our trusted cabinet makers. Most Longmont homeowners are 20 minutes from the showroom via CO 119.

The design phase for a Longmont kitchen typically takes a few weeks from first consultation to final cabinet order, depending on how quickly selections come together. Cabinet lead times then vary based on the maker and the level of customization, usually a few weeks to a few months. Older Longmont homes with custom dimensions sometimes need extra design time. Newer Longmont builds with standard wall lengths often move faster. We give every Longmont homeowner a clear timeline at the start.

Most kitchen cabinet projects in Longmont do not require a permit. If your project includes plumbing, electrical, or structural changes that do, your Longmont contractor or builder typically pulls those permits with the City of Longmont. We coordinate closely with your contractor and let you know what permits the project may need, so nothing gets missed on your Longmont kitchen.

Yes. Older Longmont homes near downtown, in Prairie Village, and in Stoney Ridge often have narrow walls, low ceilings, and original character details worth preserving. Our designer plans cabinets that fit unusual dimensions, work around original windows and trim, and use door styles and finishes that suit the home’s era. Cabinet design in older Longmont homes is some of the most rewarding work we do.

Our showroom is at 1600 38th Street, Suite 101 in Boulder, about a 20 minute drive from Longmont down CO 119. Parking is easy at the office complex. We are open Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Longmont homeowners often combine the showroom visit with another trip into Boulder, so the drive feels efficient. Call or text (303) 717-2355 to schedule, or just stop by during open hours.

Yes. We are the kitchen design and cabinetry partner on your Longmont project, and we coordinate closely with your contractor or builder during the install. Our designer stays involved through final cabinet placement in your Longmont home, so the cabinets land exactly as designed. If you do not have a contractor yet, we can point you toward trusted Longmont area builders.

Neighborhoods We Serve Across Longmont CO

Our designer works with homeowners in every part of Longmont. Each neighborhood brings its own home types, kitchen layouts, and cabinet design needs, and we adjust the design approach to fit.

Stoney Ridge A mid century neighborhood with classic ranch homes from the 1950s and 1960s. Compact kitchens, low ceilings, and limited pantry space are common, and our cabinet plans focus on smarter storage and door styles that suit the home’s era.

Hilltop Village Newer homes with open floor plans, taller ceilings, and bigger kitchen footprints. We often replace builder grade cabinetry here with custom designed alternatives that finally match the quality of the rest of the home.

Prairie Village A quiet established neighborhood with a strong mid century footprint. Homeowners here often want to keep their kitchen’s footprint but upgrade the cabinetry, layout, and storage so the space works the way it should.

Kiteley An established suburban pocket with homes from the 1980s and 1990s. Cabinets are often original, drawer glides have failed, and finishes feel dated even when the layout still functions. We rework these kitchens with new custom cabinetry and current finishes.

Fox Hill A mature neighborhood near the heart of Longmont, with a mix of older homes and updated builds. Our cabinet work here often balances respect for the home’s character with the function modern families need every day.

Hygiene and the Rural Edge The homes spread across the rural pockets out toward Hygiene tend to be larger with stronger ties to the landscape. We design cabinets that connect to the views, use natural materials that fit the setting, and plan storage for the realities of country living.

Beyond These Neighborhoods We also design kitchens for homeowners across the rest of Longmont, in the historic blocks near the Longmont Museum and Roosevelt Park, around McIntosh Lake, and throughout Boulder County including Niwot, Lyons, and the surrounding Front Range.
