We Know Louisville CO

Louisville’s median property value reached $883,900 in 2024 with a median household income of $149,159 and a homeownership rate of 71.7 percent. These are high-earning, design-aware, long-term owners who expect quality and expertise at every stage of a project.
A showroom sales associate pointing at door samples is not what Louisville homeowners are looking for. A designer who listens, specifies with precision, and delivers exactly what was promised is.

Louisville’s median construction year is 1991, creating two distinct cabinet audiences in the same city.
Old Town carries genuine architectural character with homes that have never had their original cabinetry updated. Steel Ranch, Centaurus, Coal Creek Ranch, and Hillcrest are newer communities with larger open plan homes built with developer-selected cabinetry in properties now worth close to $900,000. The gap between what those homes are worth and what the cabinets look like is the reason most Louisville cabinet projects happen.

Louisville shares Boulder’s high-altitude climate, sitting just 10 miles apart at similar elevation. Dry winters and monsoon summers create humidity cycling that puts real stress on cabinet materials. Plywood box construction outperforms particleboard under repeated seasonal movement. Stained finishes hold longer than painted ones in dry conditions. For Louisville homeowners investing at this level those specification decisions matter for the long term.

Why Choose Kitchens Elevated for Kitchen Cabinets in Louisville CO

Louisville has strong cabinet options. Tharp Custom Cabinetry has manufactured Colorado cabinets since 1971. Classic Cabinets and Design serves Boulder County with authorized dealer relationships. JM Kitchen and Bath has won Best of Houzz ten years running. None of them have a designer based 15 minutes away who visits your Louisville home first, designs around how your household actually cooks and lives, and specifies every dimension and finish before a single order is placed.

Louisville homeowners invest at a level that demands more than a catalog selection. We take the time to understand your specific kitchen, your storage habits, and your daily routine before making a single recommendation.

Old Town homes need cabinet designs that honor their character. Steel Ranch and Coal Creek Ranch open plans need cabinetry built for scale. We design around your specific home, not a template.

How to Find Our Boulder Showroom from Louisville

Louisville to our Boulder showroom is one of the shortest commutes of any city we serve. We are 14 minutes and 8.4 miles away at 1600 38th St Suite 101, with the most direct route running west along South Boulder Road the entire way.

From central Louisville, hop on Main Street and head toward East South Boulder Road. Take it west, then stay on South Boulder Road as it crosses out of Louisville and continues toward Boulder. The road eventually merges into CO-157 North, also known as Foothills Parkway, which takes you the rest of the way to 38th Street. Our showroom is right there on the right.

The short trip changes how Louisville clients work with us. Many of our Louisville projects involve three or four showroom visits across the design phase, often dropping by for 20 minutes between errands or on the way home. You can compare two finish samples on different days, bring your partner to a sample review without scheduling weeks ahead, or come back a third time to confirm a final selection. The drive is short enough that none of that feels like a project.

Parking is at the door. We are open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Call or text (303) 717-2355 before you head over so we can have your project file open and the relevant samples laid out.

Follow our route on Google Maps.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Custom Kitchen Cabinets in Louisville CO

Most Louisville cabinet projects fall between $16,000 and $52,000, with the typical project landing around $22,000 to $36,000. The biggest cost drivers are kitchen size, custom versus semi-custom construction, and the finish package you choose. Older Old Town Louisville homes with smaller original kitchens often come in lower; newer Steel Ranch and Coal Creek Ranch homes with larger open-plan kitchens tend to sit higher. We measure your specific Louisville kitchen before quoting, so the number you get is grounded in your space.

Old Town Louisville and the blocks near the Public Road corridor have a real stock of older homes, many dating back to the city’s mining era. The original kitchens are usually small, with low ceilings and tight footprints that were never designed for how families cook today. Cabinet work in these homes often means precise measurement, custom storage that fits non-square corners, and door styles and finishes that respect the home’s age while delivering modern function.

Yes, and these are some of our most ambitious Louisville projects. Steel Ranch, Coal Creek Ranch, and parts of North End have homes with open-plan kitchens, vaulted ceilings, and larger footprints that need cabinetry designed at scale. We build tall pantry walls, oversized islands with seating, integrated appliance panels, and finish packages that read well across a great room. Standard stock cabinets often look undersized in these kitchens.

For straightforward cabinet replacement that does not involve plumbing, electrical, or structural changes, Louisville typically does not require a building permit. The moment you add a new sink location, change electrical for under-cabinet lighting, or move a wall, you are into permit territory. When that happens, we handle the paperwork through the City of Louisville Building Department and coordinate inspections at every stage. We tell you at the consultation whether your specific project needs a permit.

Yes, and we encourage it. Many Louisville clients bring a paint chip, a fabric swatch, or a stone sample from a countertop fabricator so we can match cabinet finishes and hardware against the materials they have already selected. Because Louisville is only 14 minutes from our showroom, it is easy to drop these samples by during the design phase rather than describing them over email.

Yes, when the home calls for it. Older Louisville homes near Old Town can have non-standard wall conditions, settled floors, or original details that require slower, more careful install work. We plan extra time for shimming, leveling, and trim work on these projects so the finished cabinets sit perfectly in spaces that have shifted a little over a century. The result is cabinetry that looks like it belongs, not like it was forced into a quirky room.

Door style usually follows the home. Shaker remains the most-requested across Louisville because it bridges the city’s range well, pairing cleanly with older Old Town homes and newer Steel Ranch builds. Beyond Shaker, we see strong interest in slab-front doors for modern Louisville kitchens, inset doors for higher-end traditional projects, and two-tone combinations pairing painted upper cabinets with stained natural wood lower runs. We bring real door samples to your consultation so you can compare in person.

Both, with a slight lean toward painted in newer construction and stained in older homes. Steel Ranch and Coal Creek Ranch homeowners often go painted in whites, soft greens, and deep blues that read well in open-plan spaces. Old Town and Cherrywood homeowners often choose stained natural wood that respects the home’s original character. The most common request from Louisville right now is painted uppers paired with stained lower islands.

Yes, and the process is built around that. The on-site install typically takes 3 to 7 days, with most cabinet-only projects finishing in under a week. Before install day, all design, ordering, and fabrication happens off-site, so your Louisville kitchen stays fully functional until the team arrives. We protect floors, contain dust, and clean the space at the end of every day. For Louisville families who cannot give up the kitchen for long, we can stage the install to keep critical sections like the sink and fridge functional through most of the week.

Beyond kitchen cabinets in Louisville, we also offer kitchen design, kitchen remodeling, and whole-home remodeling for Louisville homes. Many of our cabinet clients in Steel Ranch and Old Town start with a cabinet upgrade and grow the project from there. Same team, same designer, no handoffs if the project expands.

How to Choose the Right Kitchen Cabinets for Your Louisville CO Remodel

  • Hardware Choices: Small details make a big difference our team helps you choose handles and pulls that complete the look.

Kitchen Cabinets Across Louisville CO Neighborhoods

Louisville is small enough that we know its neighborhoods well, and the cabinet work shifts depending on which one we are walking into.

North End has a mix of established homes and infill builds, so projects here range widely. We have done full custom kitchens with floor-to-ceiling pantry walls and we have done careful refresh projects that keep the home’s original feel while updating the storage to actually work for a modern family.

Steel Ranch is one of Louisville’s newer developments, with larger floor plans and the open-concept kitchens that come with them. Cabinet work here usually means designing at scale, including tall pantry runs, oversized islands, and integrated panels that let the appliances disappear into the cabinetry rather than stand out from it.

Coal Creek Ranch homes often sit on bigger lots with more architectural variety. We adapt the cabinet design to each house, sometimes leaning modern with slab-front doors and minimal hardware, other times choosing classic Shaker profiles that pair well with the home’s exterior style.

Cherrywood is established Louisville, and the homes have settled into a kind of mid-tier comfort that benefits from thoughtful cabinet upgrades. We see a lot of stained natural wood and two-tone designs in Cherrywood projects, often paired with hardware that nods to the home’s original era.

Old Town Louisville is its own animal. The homes here are older, smaller, and often closer to the Public Road corridor, where the city’s character lives. Cabinet design in Old Town is about respect for what is already there. We measure tightly, choose materials that honor the home’s age, and prioritize storage solutions that solve real problems without erasing what makes these homes worth living in.

Hillsborough rounds out our regular service map, with homes that span styles and ages. Whatever you walk into here, the cabinet design starts with the same question: how do you actually use this kitchen, and what would make it work harder for you?
